Allow me to thank my friends who just graduated last March, sayang hindi ako nakapag-paalam sa kanila ng maayos... pero sa tingin ko maaintindihan nila yun... ^_^
Dear friends, so long,
I won't forget you.
While the meetings go on and on,
We shall embrace the small scars with both hands.
People keep on going,
some loiter around, gazing at this unending world.
It's so precious when you have good wishes,
you just have to open your eyes and see it inside on your heart.
The sound of the bells reminds me of the times that we suffer,
they call out the words of a prayer.
The passing reality and
the gently sighing tomorrow are our everything.
People goes on with their journeys
some only loiter around gazing at this unending world.
My beloved companions, even though I lose the strength and the will to go on,
still let's continue to run past this difficult period.
The people that I love and I care, before long,
Mutually shall we bloom in eternity in this place?
And then I, someday, again wonder if I will stay...
still wonder if I'll still go on with our journey...

and here it is...
the start of Summer '07-'08...
I learned it months before...
I was expecting that I have to take all my "enrolled" units, that is, twelve (12) units, namely; Developmental Economics, Political Dynamics of Asia, Philippine Foreign Policy and Ancient Literature. My goodness, almost 15K din ang binayaran namin ah! only to know that the last subject, the ancient literature needs to be dissolved due to the lack of students that are enrolled. (the required number of students is a summer class is 15) We're given a choice to "petition" it, that is we will pay additional in order for the instructor to continue; sort of "multiplying" ourselves into the required number. For example in our case, pito lang kami na naka-enroll, so it means we have to pay an additional 8K in order for us to continue the class! my gosh! it means, mga around 30 to 40K ang kikitain ng professor namin dun sa class na yun! (dapat nga akong maging professor... hehehehe...) and the other option, and the one that I personally opted to do, is to drop that course...
hm... 3 major subjects (that is Environmental Economics, Group Dynamics, and Social Change) tapos, 2 professional education subjects (Community Integration and Seminars in Education) tapos Student Teaching @ the Education High School then Thesis Writing. S**t! 20 units na yun!!! tapos dagdagan pa natin ng I suppose yung 2 back subjects ko (yung Ancient Lit nga at yung isang "masamang panaginip") then it means, around 28 units... hay, for a 4th year Social Science Major, its a whole lotta bulls**t... haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy!!!
hay...
ganbare miroku-san...
ganbatte...
better continue on with my readings in Economic Development and the introductory discussions in Political Dynamics of Asia...

"The world of the happy is quite different from the world of the unhappy."
- Ludwig Wittgenstein, from the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus (1922)
- Ludwig Wittgenstein, from the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus (1922)
earlier while I was still in my father's bakery, I read some of the papers today and what got my interest here is an article in the Philippine Daily Inquirer in the Lifestyle section, wherein a mother living in jolly old england for almost 25 years now reacting to the increasing number of suicides and violence caused by the young majority there.
She started her article by narrating one of United Kingdom's most shocking news; a young girl was convicted of manslaughter for aiding and abetting (assisting, instigating) her friends as they beat a 29 year old man who was simply minding his own business. The girl was sentenced to serve two years detention. (Wikipedia) The other two teens, both aged 19 and 17 were sentenced to serve six to seven years in jail.
Sources say that just before the attack, the girl was handed a cellphone by one of the attackers and told her to "video this." She then approached the victim, asked for money, then lured him towards the attackers and recorded the subsequent attack. (You can read the whole article of the case here)
Sources also say that the girl sent the video to all of her friends and even posted it in her sort of "profile" (like in friendster and myspace) and in her blog.
then, the author continued on by telling things like the girl was a "gymslip" mother (a british slang meaning a teenage mother) and was desperate and like that. The next more "horrid" thing that moved me is the increasing number of "cluster suicides", sources again say that some of the youth there sees these as "cool" and "worth to be done" and records would say that most of those who would commit suicide were also present in their friend's or worse, in their brother/sister's suicide. Sometimes, groups or in our country "barkadas" kill themselves almost simultaneously. Again, sources would say that the victims' ages ranged from 8 to 23 years old. (see from 8 years old?! grabe na ito)
then she related the effects of social networking and being associated with the "internet generation" to these cases; she narrated that social networks and even the internet served as "references" and as a "place for them to post their aggressiveness" and to "release their inner angst", moreover, their self-pride and an absolute kind of materialism.
she ended her article with some rants and a sort of a wish that this would and could not happen in our country.
talagang naapektuhan ako sa article na ito dahil undoubtedly, I can be considered a part of this lost generation dahil sa maraming beses ko na ding sinubukang magpatiwakal.
The article made me more realize that "saying goodbye to the world" at an early age and at sometimes unreasonable reasons was preposterous and very irrational...
"Sorrow can be alleviated by good sleep, a bath and a glass of wine."
o kaya ito...
"The most hopeful people in the world are the young and the drunk. The first because they have little experience of failure, and the second because they have succeeded in drowning theirs."
aun... ito muna... mamaya ulet... =D

she ended her article with some rants and a sort of a wish that this would and could not happen in our country.
talagang naapektuhan ako sa article na ito dahil undoubtedly, I can be considered a part of this lost generation dahil sa maraming beses ko na ding sinubukang magpatiwakal.
